A life full of adventure

Originally from the UK, I emigrated to Calgary, Canada in 2002 to build a life where I could work hard and play hard in the spectacular Rocky Mountains. I have previously worked in the media and advertising industry for large and small companies in the UK and Canada. More recently in Revelstoke, BC, I ran a popular bed and breakfast where I applied my business and customer service background to creating an exceptional guest experience. One of the highlights as a B&B host was the time spent listening to guests’ diverse life stories which, combined with my own journey so far, prompted me to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. As a self-confessed “trauma nerd” I am obsessed with learning everything I can about trauma and the effects it can have on our minds, bodies, and lives. I have been extremely fortunate to complete my Level 1 Internal Family Systems (IFS) training though the IFS Institute.

When I’m not devouring information from books and webinars, I like to be outside; walking my dog, snowboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, playing pickleball, growing vegetables, or chilling with friends on a beach or by a fire. I have recently connected with creative parts of me through watercolour painting. I occasionally like to push myself to go beyond my comfort zone with activities such as kite surfing and splitboarding in the backcountry.

I would like to acknowledge and honor the four nations on whose territory I live, work, and play; Sinixt, Secwepmec, Ktunaxa, and Syilx.
